Let’s do a grounding

Updated: Apr 9

When a tree establishes deep and stable roots, it can grow taller without sacrificing its core strength.

In December, people are busy preparing for Christmas and the holidays. Let's talk about the practice of grounding and earthing.

When you are busy, it's important to ground yourself to avoid losing focus and feeling anxious, irritable, panicked, and overwhelmed.

This was written in my newsletter on 22nd March 2021, but I will write here again.

When a tree roots deeper, it can grow higher without losing its core. In a recent newsletter called "Let's Meditate", I discussed the importance of grounding during meditation. During a guided meditation, the guide often instructs you to imagine your roots growing deeper before your image grows higher. This is because grounding is an essential part of meditation. If you are interested in my previous newsletters (Japanese), please check my unofficial blog (you can translate by Google).

Grounding, also known as earthing, helps root your energy and connect with the earth's natural rhythm. Skyscrapers have an earthing line for lightning protection, and similarly, people need to discharge excess charged energy caused by a busy mind. Practicing grounding techniques can help you return to a state of balance and harmony with the earth.

When you feel stressed, busy, nervous, anxious, confused, panicked, angry, tired and fearful, you may think too much and have repetitive thoughts, and your energy stays higher in your body.

In these situations, it can be helpful to take a deep breath and try the grounding tips listed below.

1. Walk barefoot and be in nature

One of the easiest ways to ground yourself is to take off your shoes and feel the earth under your feet. You can try walking on the beach or grass, paddling in the river, having a foot bath in a hot spring, or simply walking in a park or nature.

2. Food

Consuming food that is red in color, root vegetables, or food that is rich in minerals can help you feel grounded. Root vegetables, as the name suggests, grow their roots in the soil and can provide you with grounding energy.

Additionally, it is believed that black foods such as black sesame, black beans, and black rice are also beneficial for grounding.

3. Exercise

When you exercise and stabilize your body's core, you also feel grounded.

4. Using Sacred Earth Mist

If you want to create a calming atmosphere, you can try using Lavender essential oil. Another option is to use Sacred Earth Mist from Findhorn Flower Essence, which can help you feel more grounded. We often use this mist at work when we are having a very busy day. You can purchase both of these products at Helios Pharmacy or Findhorn Flower Essences.

5. Soaking in a Salt Bath

When I have tired legs from standing all day at the pharmacy, or when my shoulders and neck become stiff from using my computer for a long time, I enjoy soaking in a bath with Seasalt, Himalayan Salt or Epsom salt.

These salt baths help to relax my muscles and detox my body through my skin. Salt has also been used for spiritual cleansing. Additionally, my skin absorbs plenty of good minerals from the salts, which helps me to feel grounded.

I find that staying in the bath for at least 20 minutes is enough to achieve these benefits

6. Using Gemstones and Crystals

Wearing or carrying crystals with grounding properties, such as black or red stones, can be beneficial. For example, Black Tourmaline and Garnet have an earthing effect.

Personally, I wear a bracelet that contains either Black Tourmaline or Shungite.

Shungite is a great protector against EMF (Electromagnetic Field) and also has a grounding effect. This black stone is mined from Russia and has gained immense popularity lately.

The homeopathic pharmacy where I work stores this stone in the dispensary to safeguard remedies from EMF. I not only wear it as a bracelet, but I also leave it in the room and infuse it with drinking water.

7. Using Homeopthic Remedies

Depending on individual situations, homeopathic remedies can be used for grounding. By focusing on listening to your true self, you can avoid panic and anxiety and trust your core.

In recent years, including the lockdown period, many people have grown fearful after consuming news. Often, it can be difficult for them to differentiate between hypotheses and facts, leading to differing opinions and arguments.

Personally, I do not watch the news much, as it can be hard to discern the truth. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I suggest starting by looking at the facts and improving your intuition. Don't be too quick to give up your own will and be honest with yourself.

When making decisions, don't rely solely on what your friends and family say. Always focus on thinking and feeling what you truly want, and repeat this exercise regularly to better understand your desires. This is an essential part of grounding yourself.

If you're feeling anxious or stressed, try the aforementioned techniques to help alleviate those feelings.

If you're interested in finding grounding and self-discovery, please book a full homeopathic consultation.

I offer "Acute Consultation" for short-term conditions (less than a month) with 48 hours of support. Examples include cough, cold, or injury.
