Why do homeopaths see homeopaths, too?
As the Japanese saying goes, "doctors do not take care of themselves," homeopaths also need to take care of themselves in order to continue treating clients in the best possible condition.
Here, I will delve into the possible role of a homeopath and the reasons why homeopaths see homeopaths.

#1 - The role of homeopaths
As a homeopath, there are many ways that you can contribute to the homeopathic industry.
I personally work in a homeopathic pharmacy and also see individual clients, and the following are some of the ways I can contribute in my daily work:
Dispensing homeopathic remedies
When dispensing, it is important to maintain a state of mind that minimises the impact of the remedy. Before starting work, staff meditate to clear their minds and get to work.
Also, to ensure that the remedy is delivered in the best possible condition, the use of a mobile phone is prohibited in the pharmacy. Everyone must switch them off or put them on flight mode before entering the building.
Promoting homeopathy
We also have customers at the pharmacy who have never heard of homeopathy before, and those who have been recommended by others but don't have much knowledge about it. We explain to these customers what homeopathy is all about and how remedies can help improve their health, and provide support tailored to their individual needs.
I also see a key aspect of my work as inspiring people to explore homeopathy through blogs and newsletters, encouraging those facing challenges, and offering them ideas about natural health and hope.
Nowadays, many homeopaths share information about homeopathy through podcasts and YouTube.
Supporting the homeopathic industry
If homeopathic pharmacies were to disappear, we would no longer be able to source homeopathic remedies, which would be a major blow to the homeopathic industry (I know we can make remedies with vibrational machines, but it is important to keep the originals).
We follow UK national regulations and carefully explain and handle the products so that we can supply them to as many people as possible.
Providing homeopathy to those in need
In addition to people coming to purchase remedies, some also come to consult about personal chronic symptoms. In these cases, it is important to judge whether it is best to give a remedy here to provide temporary relief or whether it would be best to schedule a full consultation to receive a prescription tailored to their individual condition, and then to suggest and guide them to the best solution.
Contributing to the development of new remedies
At times of environmental change, people's health conditions and needs also change. New remedies that suit the times may be needed, and in such cases, we may contribute to the release of new remedies to the public through provings and other means to determine which symptoms the new remedies are effective for.
Responding to individual needs through consultations
This is probably the role of a homeopath that is best known to the general public: by prescribing well-chosen remedies tailored to each individual's health condition, they support clients in achieving their desired health state.
To do this on a daily basis, homeopaths need to be in the best possible physical and emotional health.
Hahnemann suggested that a homeopath ought to be an "unprejudiced observer." To achieve this, it is crucial to keep one's physical and emotional state stable and to pursue personal development and growth.
In order to achieve enlightenment and growth as a person, it is important to take care of yourself. By being clear about not only physical symptoms but also emotional or karmic traumas, you can select a more appropriate remedy.
For this reason, it is common for homeopaths to consult with other homeopaths.
#2 - The advantage of homeopaths consulting with other homeopaths
There are many benefits to seeing a homeopath, but the main ones are as follows:
Ensuring objectivity
It's challenging to assess your own symptoms, so let an outside perspective observe you.
Difference in specialisation
Homeopaths also have various prescribing methods and have diverse areas of expertise, so we can receive advice from different perspectives, which leads to growth.
The limits of self-care
Choosing the right remedy for yourself is inevitably subjective.
Practicing beliefs
The action of "receiving homeopathy myself" becomes consistent with one's beliefs and career management.
Chronic and complex conditions
Seeking advice from other homeopaths for assistance with symptoms that are challenging to address independently.
Mental and emotional support
Homeopathy treats a whole person, so you will be listened to sympathetically.
Part of learning and research
Experiencing the treatment methods of other homeopaths to improve your skills.
Network/ trust relationship
Strengthens community ties by caring for each other.
Preventive care
Even if you are not feeling unwell, you may take a remedy to maintain your health.
Sense of security and psychological effect
The mere act of being examined has a positive effect on the mind and body.
There is a Japanese saying that "doctors do not take care of themselves," but even specialists themselves need to be looked after by someone, and homeopaths are no exception.
#3 - The importance of healing yourself
Homeopathy might be seen merely as a profession, but I believe it's crucial to care and develop through this work. It's important to consider not just physical and emotional symptoms, but also the karma and souls passed down from ancestors.
When you heal yourself, it also brings healing to those around you. It's important to always remember the nature of this energy.
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, "Can I give a remedy secretly to other people?", it is important to initiate healing for yourself.
It can be said that homeopaths do not only visit homeopaths to "cure symptoms," but also as a cultural act that deepens self-understanding, belongs to a community, and reflects the homeopathic worldview.
#4 - Conclusion
I have been a homeopath for 15 years and have spent 10 years working at a homeopathic pharmacy. Each day brings new learning opportunities as I meet new people and grow alongside my colleagues in this setting.
I am thankful for the chance to contribute to society both personally and professionally as a homeopath.
I am genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to continue learning humbly and growing every day.
I hope my experiences can inspire others. To achieve this, I will keep creating blogs, newsletters, and homeopathic webinars.
